A free 45 minute session for registered managers, deputies and dementia leads. Statistically, a home of forty residents has a small number of people living with lifelong, undiagnosed ADHD. None of them have it recorded anywhere. This session is about what that costs you, and how you would spot it.

What we will cover

  • The generation that was never assessed. Why almost nobody now in residential care has an ADHD diagnosis, and why that is a fact about history rather than about them.
  • The evidence linking ADHD and dementia, set out honestly, including what it does not yet show.
  • Three residents you will recognise. The cardigan she will not wear. The room that was kindly tidied. The tablets he takes for one carer and not another.
  • What it is costing you now. As required medication, incidents, weight loss, agency hours, and the Regulation 9 question an inspector could reasonably ask.
  • Three things you could change on Monday, none of which cost anything.
What this is not. It is not the training, and it is not a sales pitch dressed as a webinar. It is the argument, made properly, in the time you can actually spare. If you want the full curriculum afterwards, the two hour webinar is there. If you do not, you will still leave with three things worth doing.

Who is running it

Kerry Goodearl. Eight years working in care homes, a master's dissertation at the University of Hull on what happens when a home does not fit the person, and ADHD herself. Which is the reason she noticed any of this in the first place.
